Mom & Dad
Mom was born in Pennsylvania on October 8th, 1932. She was one of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls, and was christened Rita.
She spent most of her young adult life in Pennsylvania. Later she moved to Washington, D.C. where she lived for several years.
I was born on March 15, 1956. I am her only child.
Several years later she moved to Maryland and settled in.
This is a pic of Mom in the 1950's.
On July 18, 1983 she married Dad (Jerry).
This is a pic of Mom & Jerry in the 80's.
In 1989 she retired with 35 years of service from our local phone company.
Then they both abandoned me and moved to Florida. (just kidding!)
This is a pic Mom before she moved to Florida.
They love Florida, it's hard to get them to come visit up here in Maryland.
I don't blame them though, who likes to shovel snow, when you can build sandcastles in the sun! :-)
She is an avid gardener. Any plant that she touches flourishes!
She is very talented with her hands, give her a piece of material, and you'll have the most gorgeous dress!
I know this for a fact, as she made my wedding dress out of silk!
She loves needlework and her newest hobby is quilting.
Mom made this for me in 2009... she said I'll always be her Wild Flower. :-)
Dad has 1 brother, and 4 children.
His birthday is February 24, 1933. He never lets Mom forget that she's his 'old' lady, since she's 3 months older. LOL!
He loves Golf, as a matter of fact, he goes golfing every day!
He's also in a sports club where he's fantastic in table tennis!
